Project Launch: Enhancing Online Property Listings with ScotMove

Welcome to the official, self-contained development log for ScotMove.

While I maintain a broader coding blog for general technical projects, ScotMove represents a distinct, focused effort. I have created this dedicated digital capsule specifically to document the lifecycle, architecture, and evolution of this AI project from the ground up without cluttering other spaces.

What is ScotMove?

ScotMove is an AI development project aimed at creating a tailored, intelligent solution for enhancing online property listings. The core goal is to build a Google Chrome extension that communicates with a local web server to gather crime data, ultimately overlaying this vital information directly onto property website listings.

Note on Scope: This project specifically utilizes open datasets provided by the Scottish Government. Because of this localized data source, the extension is explicitly designed for properties in Scotland and will not function for someone browsing English or Welsh listings.

By isolating this project on its own blog, the goals, design decisions, and codebases will remain entirely self-contained.

What to Expect Here

This blog will serve as a raw, transparent technical journal. Moving forward, you can expect regular updates covering:

  • Architecture & Design: Why certain frameworks and tools are chosen.
  • Development Logs: Step-by-step progress, code snippets, and milestones.
  • Challenges & Pivots: Honest documentation of debugging hurdles and how they are solved.

This log is as much a personal reference tool for the development journey as it is a window for anyone interested in following the project's growth.

Stay tuned for the first technical update. The build begins now.
